Cinematic wide shot of an artisan's hands working on a piece of bone inlay. The focus is on the dust and the chisel. Warm, golden-hour lighting filtering through a workshop window in Rajasthan. Dust motes dancing in the light. Atmospheric and emotional. 8K.

We rely on four humble elements—Premium Wood, Bone, Shell, and Resin—to create objects of enduring beauty.

Born in the Land of Kings

Inlay Craft was founded on a simple yet profound belief: true luxury cannot be mass-produced. Our journey began in the dusty, sun-drenched lanes of Udaipur and Jodhpur, cities known as the cradle of India’s royal craftsmanship.

For centuries, the art of ‘Intarsia’ (inlay) was reserved for the palaces of Maharajas—opulent thrones, jewelry boxes, and doors designed to reflect status and power. As the world moved towards fast furniture and assembly lines, we saw this breathtaking art form fading into obscurity. Inlay Craft was created to bridge that gap—bringing the regal history of Rajasthan into the contemporary homes of Dubai, London, and New York.

200 Hours. One Piece.

Patience is our primary tool. There are no laser cutters in our workshop, only hands.

Every piece of Inlay Craft furniture begins as a solid hardwood frame, hand-carved by carpenters who have honed their skill over generations. Then, the magic begins. Thousands of individual fragments of ethically sourced bone or Mother of Pearl are cut, shaped, and polished by hand.

These fragments are laid out in intricate floral or geometric patterns—a puzzle with no guide but the artisan’s eye. Finally, the resin is poured, filling the negative space to create a smooth, glass-like surface. From the first cut to the final polish, a single dresser can take up to 4 weeks to complete.

Conscious Luxury

Beauty should never come at the cost of our values. We are committed to strict ethical sourcing standards.

  • Cruelty-Free Bone: We use only camel bone sourced from animals that have died of natural causes. It is an ethically harvested byproduct that we turn into art.
  • Certified Shells: Our Mother of Pearl and Abalone shells are sourced from certified suppliers who adhere to sustainable fishing practices.
  • Sustainable Wood: We prioritize wood for our frames—a fast-growing, dense hardwood that is harvested only after the tree stops bearing fruit.
