Mother of Pearl inlay is the pinnacle of decorative arts, once reserved for the Koranic cases and palace doors of the Middle East. Every piece requires a master’s touch to handle the brittle, thin nacre without cracking it. By carving directly into the wood to "seat" the shell, we ensure a flush, organic finish that feels alive under your hand. This traditional method creates a structural bond that synthetic resin simply cannot replicate.

Sourcing the Nacre

We select only high-grade oyster shells from the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean, grading them for consistent thickness and peak iridescence.

Scalpel-Cut Fragments

Using diamond-tipped tools, artisans hand-shape the shell into micro-geometric tiles. Because shell is thinner than bone, this requires extreme precision to avoid chipping.

Sculpting the Substrate

The pattern is hand-drawn onto dark woods like Walnut. The artisan then "excavates" the negative space, creating a perfect bed for the shell to lie flush with the wood.

Flush-Setting the Shell

Each fragment is dipped into a natural binding paste and pressed into its wooden cradle. This "nested" technique makes the shell an integral part of the furniture’s structure.

Stone-Buffed Brilliance

The surface is hand-sanded with fine stones to ensure a perfectly level finish. A final buffing with natural wax brings out the nacre's inherent, glass-like shine.
